Doreen visits West Island School, Hong Kong

Doreen was very fortunate to read to the lower years at West Island School in Hong Kong. She shared many of her short stories which have recently been translated into Mandarin. The Wicky Wacky Farm Series bilingual (English/Mandarin) editions are now used in schools across China.

The sessions were enjoyed by come of our first language Chinese Year 7, 8 and 9 classes; with students creating their own stories and asking lots of questions in both English and Mandarin following the readings. Little Thought Monsters and The Haunted House were two of the students’ favourites.
