Meet our local authors ar Enjoy! Cafe

Denise Doraisamy was born in the Hawkesbury.

Being raised on a farm, then travelling to different places in the world to live, she has a vast pool of experiences from which to weave her stories.

Using a simple vocabulary and an identifiable hero, her books appeal to the 10-14-year-old age group for authenticity and action.

Hugo Blake, her protagonist, writes the tails in his own 13-year-old voice and does all the illustrations, as he aspires to become an artist.

There are five books in the series and the first two are now available at this launch of Enjoy! Café, with the other three in the series ready before November.

Dor Slinkard is an unstoppable story teller be it through voice or writing.  Inspired by life, especially as a jillaroo in outback Australia and later as a racehorse trainer, her imagination thrives.

Her stories are sure to entertain and most of all make you laugh.

Dor’s first published novel, ‘For the Love of Patrick,’ is an Australian history, family saga. It will be followed by two more stories making a trilogy.

Preceded by her children’s series, ‘Wicky Wacky Farm,’ inspired by living on Windermere Farm, Wilberforce for the past 46 years.

Mick Dawson has had short stories published on the Faithwriters’ weekly competition site. On his website, “Mick’s Rejects”, now deleted, he serialized novels receiving quite a following.

Several podcasts have been published and read on ‘Antipodean Science Fiction FM”. Stories include ‘The Gift’, ‘The Final Crusade’ and ‘A Night in Caliet’.

‘A Night in Caliet’ was nominated for Best Aussie Short Story in the 2010 Ditmar Awards. Both ‘The Gift’ and ‘The Final Crusade’ were nominated in 2013.

He currently writes speculative fiction e-book novels. Two can be found on Smashwords Publishing – ‘The Missionary’ and ‘The Tower of Good and Evil.’ At least one more will be added each year.
